Spotlighting DeWAL Thermal Spray Tapes at ITSC 2017

We recently returned from the International Thermal Spray Conference, held this year in Dusseldorf, Germany. As always, it was a great opportunity to visit with OEMs, end users, researchers and other members of the thermal spray industry.

Our booth crew – Chris Brooks, Joanne Hooper, Mark Kelly and Marco Brunelli – met up with existing customers and also had the chance to introduce DeWAL to some new prospective customers. Our plasma spray product line assortment were of particular interest to conference attendees.

ITSC 2018 will be held in Orlando, and we’re already making plans for another great show. Make sure to set a calendar reminder to stop by our booth next year to learn more about DeWAL’s pressure-sensitive plasma, thermal spray and HVOF masking tapes.

New UHMW-PE Films Target Applications Requiring Pigmentation, UV Resistance

enhanced uhmw-pe filmsWe’re very excited to unveil three enhanced UHMW-PE products:

DW406BF – Developed for hose lining or other contact areas for potable water, pharmaceutical applications and cosmetic manufacturing, along with more traditional hydraulic and chemical hose. Pigmented black with fillers that are FDA compliant.

DW406WF – A companion material to DW406BF that’s pigmented white using FDA-compliant fillers. DW406WF is suitable for the same applications as DW406BF.

DW402UV – Developed specifically for environments where UV is present by incorporating UV-resistant fillers into natural UHMW-PE, which is not inherently tolerant of UV light.

The new films offer the same excellent physical, chemical, mechanical and abrasion resistance and a low coefficient of friction that make UHMW-PE a great choice for rubber hose, profile and belt applications in severe service environments. This extremely versatile engineering material also carries FDA and USDA compliance characteristics.

DeWAL Targets IWCS Weight Reduction & FR Materials Concerns

ptfe laminate for wire & cable applicationsWe were very happy to see many old colleagues and some new faces as well at the IWCS in Providence, R.I.

There were two recurring objectives that we heard this year from cabling designers and engineers.  One was the need to reduce the weight of the finished cabling product and the other was the search for low smoke or fire resistant materials for wire and cable.

DeWAL is moving forward in both of these areas to supply solutions for these concerns in PTFE and other materials like this PTFE laminate.

Visit our wire and cable page for details on our products specifically for these industries.

The 65th IWCS Conference is in full swing in Providence, Rhode Island, and we’re getting a great turn-out at Booth 307 in the exhibitors hall.

Long-time friends and business partners in the wire and cable industries have dropped in to say hi, and a number of  new faces have stopped by to learn more about the benefits of DeWAL’s industry-leading skived PTFE and UHMW tapes.

The conference and exhibit extend through October 5, so IWCS attendees still have plenty of time to come over and say hello. If you’re not at IWCS but would like to learn more about our  high-performance polymer films and tapes, call us at 1-800-366-8356 or submit the form at right.

HMCS Sackville

DEFSEC a Chance to Meet Canadian Marine & Aerospace Suppliers

HMCS Sackville

DEFSEC Atlantic was a great experience, with a lot of interest in our thermal spray masking tapes.

In between one-on-one meetings with suppliers to the Canadian aerospace and marine industries, we had the opportunity to tour the decommissioned battleship HMCS Sackville. The WWII convoy escort vessel is Canada’s oldest fighting warship as well as that country’s official Naval Memorial.

The trip was arranged through the US Commercial Service, together with the RI Commerce Department, helping to promote US companies in international markets.

DeWAL Sales Manager Andre Filippone (at left) discusses the advantages of our thermal spray masking tapes with a visitor at DEFSEC Atlantic, a major trade show and defense procurement conference under way now in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Our presence here is in cooperation with the U.S. and Rhode Island departments of commerce, which are cosponsoring a booth at the show.

We’ve been pleased with the interest attendees have shown in our plasma spray tapes and the critical role these products can play in aerospace industry applications. If you happen to be at DEFSEC, stop by Booth 805 and say hi. If you’re not here but are interested in learning more about our thermal spray masking tapes and other  high-performance polymer products, please be sure to contact us, by calling 1-800-366-8356 or by submitting the short form at right.

Upcoming Events to Showcase DeWAL Masking Tapes, High-Performance Polymer Films

We’re pleased to announce our participation in two events this fall that represent an exciting mix of old and new for DeWAL.

On the new front, we’ll exhibit our thermal spray masking tapes at the Canadian Defence Security and Aerospace Exhibition Atlantic, September 6-8, in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Better known as DEFSEC Atlantic, the event is now in its 11th year and attracts participants from all levels of defense, industry and government; in 2015, representatives from 12 different countries attended the trade show and defense procurement conference.

The event is a great fit with our focus on the aerospace industry and should provide some excellent opportunities for our Canadian office to highlight DeWAL’s expertise in this area.

DeWAL’s participation in DEFSEC Atlantic is an offshoot of our exhibit at Hannover Messe earlier this year – the U.S. and Rhode Island departments of commerce were instrumental in promoting U.S. involvement in both shows.

On the tried-and-true front, we’ll be back at the International Cable & Connectivity Symposium, held this year from October 2 through October 5 in Providence, Rhode Island.

We’ve attended IWCS, which is the venue for cable and connectivity products, processes and applications, for years and always welcome the chance to reconnect with longtime friends and business partners in the wire and cable industries. It’s a great venue to highlight DeWAL’s high-performance polymer films, particularly our skived UHMW and PTFE tapes.

Stay tuned for details as the events draw closer – or contact us now for the information you need by submitting the form to the right.

DeWAL Highlights Thermal Spray Masking Tape at ITSC

Our BlueShield Masking Compound is the focal point of DeWAL’s booth at this year’s International Thermal Spray Conference, under way this week in Shanghai.

A single-step compound designed for complex or difficult masking jobs, BlueShield is particularly well suited for use during blasting and coating operations at aircraft engine repair shops.

Along with BlueShield, we’re also highlighting our whole range of thermal spray tapes and other skived UHMW and PTFE tapes and films.

In coordination with this year’s conference, we’re pleased to announce our membership in ASM International’s Thermal Spray Society, one of the event’s organizers. After years of exhibiting at the conference, we felt it only made sense to join the group that so many of our customers and industry members belong to. We’re looking forward to full participation in the Society and to our continued attendance at the annual conference.

Fill out at the form at right to contact DeWAL and learn how our tapes and films can make a difference in your operation.
