Through a proprietary
process, DeWAL produces thin porous films of ultrahigh molecular-weight
polyethylene (UHMW-PE). These Uni-Pore films have uniform
pore sizes in all three axes. The pore size distribution
is very uniform, with nominal values from 50.0 microns to
2.5 microns. The tortuous path through the film creates
an efficient filter medium, and the high chemical resistance
with of UHMW-PE allows filtration of most liquids and gases.
Uni-Pore provides excellent chemical and abrasion resistance
with superior mechanical strength. The material is easily
pleatable and die-cuts cleanly, making it ideal for filter
and diagnostic applications. Uni-Pore is recommended for
use at temperatures below 250º F for diagnostics,
filtration, flow control and frit applications.
A naturally hydrophobic end oleophilic material, Uni-Pore
aggressively absorbs oil even from oil-water dispersions.
Through a proprietary process, DeWAL can render the material
hydrophilic or oleophobic.
